MEET WILL

Will is a proud Wisconsinite and has lived in Madison for over ten years. He first moved to Madison in 2013 to attend UW—Madison. After graduating with a degree in Chemical Engineering, he got a job, settled down, and stayed in the city that he now calls home.

Over the past decade he’s lived in Madison, Will—like many other downtown residents—has been afflicted by the skyrocketing housing costs. Between now and when Will first arrived in Madison, rents have doubled. This has made securing safe and affordable housing a challenge, something he believes no community member should have to face.

This inspired Will to get involved. He became the Vice President of the Tenney-Lampham Neighborhood Association. In 2021, he founded Madison is for People, an organization of residents working to make housing more affordable, reduce greenhouse gas emissions, and end homelessness in Madison. He was recently appointed to Madison’s Housing Policy Committee and co-organized Madison Housing Week.

Now, Will is a Candidate for District 2 Alder. As a downtown resident, he is and will continue to work toward making Madison a place that lives up to our ideals: affordable, environmentally sustainable, safe, and welcoming to all people.
